Welcome to Georgia Veterinary Associates
Georgia Veterinary Associates is a group of three privately owned animals hospitals in the metro Atlanta area. Our mission is to provide innovative and thoughtful care to pets and the people who love them.
GVA opened its doors in 2003 with Russell Ridge Animal Hospital, realizing Dr. Brad Miller and Dr. Michael Wanchick's dream to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for small animal patients. In 2005 the doctors opened Hamilton Ridge Animal Hospital in Buford, and then in 2007, Apalachee Ridge Animal Hospital was opened in Dacula.

We are committed to our mission and the efforts that it takes to deliver on this daily in our locations. As technologies evolve, we are constantly upgrading our equipment and continually providing continuing education (CE) for our staff.
Our family of doctors and staff are committed to continuing education, collaboration, and offering services tailored to your pet's needs. We treat our clients and patients with respect and dignity, and we welcome pet owners to be involved in their pets' health and wellness.
In 2024, we renovated our Russell Ridge location to ensure that we are providing an experience to our clients that best embodies our vision, adding even more parking and exam rooms to improve our client experience.

With veterinary practices continually being purchased by corporate groups, we are now more than ever willing to demonstrate the difference of our locations and teams. We are locally and independently owned.
As a member of the American Animal Hospital Association since 2009, GVA adheres to rigid requirements for quality medical care and participates in comprehensive hospital inspections. We are proud to be a member of the organization and to have accredited all three of our practices.
We believe that what truly sets us apart is our people, level of care, advanced equipment and our facilities. We pride ourselves in providing personalized care for each patient and appointment flexibility. Our Russell Ridge location is open 7 days a week.
Our Services
All three of our locations provide veterinary care for dogs and cats. This includes services such as wellness exams, dentistry, preventative care, spaying and neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, surgery and more.

Our Community
We know caring for our clients is more than just caring for their pets inside of our doors, it is caring for our community. We strive to be a part of as many local animal-inclusive festivals as possible such as Pawfest and Pooches in the Park.
Our hospitals spend tens of thousands of dollars every year on pets in need, as well as partnering with rescue groups and organizations to provide reduced-cost services. We are proud to support Furkids, Henry’s House and the World Wildlife Fund. We also partnered with the Veterinary Care Foundation to start our very own CARE Fund.
