Dr. Carrie Cummings Hembree graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Piedmont College in 2001.

Dr. Cummings is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.  Feline medicine is her passion, especially senior cats with chronic illness.  She has a special interest in internal medicine and specifically kidney disease.  She is an advocate for low-stress veterinary visits, and always ensures her dog and cat patients have the best experience possible at the hospital.

She resides in Flowery Branch with her husband Zack, son Owen (11 years), daughter Alpha (5 years), and son Aleister (2 years).  They have a mischievous dog Walter Whitman, 2 senior cats, and a precocious hamster Theodore.

Dr. Cummings is an avid writer, using her free time working on novels and short stories.  She also loves antiquing, sewing, making clothes/purses, and spending as much time in the yard as possible.

Dr. Carrie Cummings Hembree has been a part of the GVA team since 2010.  She currently practices at the Hamilton Ridge location.
