Dr. Carrie Cummings Hembree graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Piedmont College in 2001.

Dr. Cummings is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.  Feline medicine is her passion, especially senior cats with chronic illness.  She has a special interest in internal medicine and specifically kidney disease.  She is an advocate for low-stress veterinary visits, and always ensures her dog and cat patients have the best experience possible at the hospital.

She resides in Flowery Branch with her husband Zack, son Owen, daughter Alpha , and son Aleister. They have a new addition to the family, a Siberian Cocker puppy named Valery, however, the kitties still rule the house.  She has four cats: Hatchy Sr., Bruce Wayne, Colonel Troutman, and Louise. 

Dr. Cummings enjoys gardening, creating indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxation, visiting antique stores, and writing.

Dr. Carrie Cummings Hembree has been a part of the GVA team since 2010.  She currently practices at the Hamilton Ridge location.
