In today's episode, we'll get to know our very own Heather Fischer, RVT

We'll talk about our new loyalty program that we'll be rolling out by the new year. 

Dr. Miller will also share an interesting case we had on Sunday. Sadie, a senior golden that had to have her spleen removal. Some signs your pet may need their spleen removed is your pet suddenly collapsing, they will be weak, have pale gums, low blood pressure, and a distended bladder. 

We'll talk a bit about what it means to be a senior pet and the AAHA regulations that we follow. 

In the news, we'll talk about the Ohio case where a woman was mauled by two of her rescue Great Danes and how humanizing dogs is a great thing, but also may pose a danger to human members of the family. 

Dr. Miller will also talk more about some medical-related topics such as a marine DAP outbreak caused by the melting ice caps. Placebo effects in animal clinical trials and early plague epidemics that may have been prevented by lifestyle choices. 

Lastly, we'll talk more about telehealth and how a company in Sweden was able to raise 18.5 million euros to fund a telehealth division of FirstVet. We'll talk about telehealth in our own clinic as well as in human medicine and what the implications mean for us as an industry.
