Welcome to Episode 49.

First off, we get to talk about some crazy weather we are having! It snowed this weekend in Georgia and we loved it! Angel will bring up snowmageddon 2014 and compare it to this snowstorm. Spoiler's not nearly as bad. 

Next, we'd like to thank Mrs. Keenen for being a very supportive listener and her 5 beautiful collies! She ad her family were winners of our 2019 photo contest, which will be running again very shortly. Make sure to listen to our future podcasts to learn more about that! ]

Our word of the week is Borborygmi. Borborygmi is "a rumbling or gurgling noise made by the movement of fluid and gas in the intestines."

Our interesting case of the week was brought to us by Dr. Amber Williams. Charlie is a young Domestic Long Hair cat who came to us with vomiting. Dr. Williams suspected a blockage and low and behold Charlie was blocked up with a hairball! Thankfully, surgery went great and Charlie is back home with his family. There are a few ways to help prevent hairballs, one of which is a special hairball diet that incorporates vegetable oil to help coat hair allowing it to pass through the GI track a lot easier. 

Superbowl winner Derrick Nnadii has offered to pay for all pet adoptions through Kansas City Pet Project but Bud Light has one-upped him! Bud Light has offered to pay for all pet adoptions through February 21st. 

More on the Coronavirus, there has been no link between domesticated pets and the Coronavirus. The wet markets in China are more likely to be the source of the virus, not household pets. 

A man is facing a 1.2 million dollar fine or 30 years in jail after selling fake pet cancer medications. 

Motoworks brewery helped reunite a woman and her lost dog after posting photos of shelter pets looking for homes on their beer cans. It was through the power of social media that the woman saw her pet on the can and was able to contact teh shelter and find her lost love.
