Welcome to Episode 71!

It has been very hot and sunny here in Lawrenceville, GA!

We are still having technical difficulties but what would 2020 be without some issues.

In COVID-19 news, we will recap some of the details we talked about back in 2019, as well as where we have come and the ill-fated date of March 20th, 2020. We'll talk about horses and a viral disease. We'll relate this is COVID and how viral it is. Dr. Miller also shares that he thinks because COVID is a coronavirus, similar to Coronavirus one we see in cats, there will never be a workable vaccine. Just like in cats, the Coronavirus causes an overreaction, and that is what causes all the issues. Dr. Miller also reaches out to Dr. Fauci in case he would like to consult with him! We'll also share Dr. Fauci's admirable track record with past presidents. Both Dr. Miller and Angel went and got tested for COVID-19 antibodies- and both came back negative!

We will talk about a study done at UC Davis about how neutering at a younger age may cause issues when they grew up. However, this 10-year study found that an early neuter had no negative effects. We will also go into a discussion about early spay and neuter in veterinary practices, rescues, and humane societies.

We have been seeing a bunch of Rabbits at GVA! We will talk about how rabbits are not a 'no fuss' pet and require a lot of upkeep. We will also talk about their diets and Dr. Miller teaches us about rabbit food!

We'll also talk about how high our call volume is, but poison control is also experiencing a very high call volume as well! Up 43% from last year.

Angel and Dr. Miller talk about their pandemic pet peeves like wearing gloves and drinking bleach.
